In The Nursing Home
He stares with wonder at the object I do not see. Who’s to say whose reality is worth more? There are many things I cannot see. The nurse comes to take him to dinner. He carries his object with him and I walk behind wondering what else he possesses that is lost to me forever.
How sad it is when what is left is this. Sad for both of them. Very moving 55.

This is so sad, and not fiction, I'm guessing. Reminds me of visiting my elderly neighbour when she was in a nursing home, talking about things that happened decades ago as though yesterday.
